TWIN BROTHERS GROWING UP SURFING THE MOKULUAS

Located in Kailua just off the coast of Lanikai Beach, the Mokulua Islands have been recognized by local watermen and visitors from all over the world as one of Hawaii's truely unique ocean environments. Our clothing company represents the "Mokes" and the laid back lifestyle we live here in Kailua. Twin brothers Mike and Peter Miller grew up in Lanikai and surfed out at the islands every chance they could get. After graduating from Kalaheo Highschool, Mike and Pete surfed professionally by traveling and competing at the best surf destinations around the world. Several years later the twins decided to follow in their father's footsteps (Emmett flew for Aloha Airlines for 35 years) by becoming pilots. Three years following Pete's tragic airplane crash in 2006 with Hawaii Air Ambulance, Mike launched Twin Islands Clothing in Peter's honor, and then later named our company Mokulua Surf Co to be more specific to his design. Mike drew up our logo that includes the Mokuluas, a sunrise, a curling wave depicting the surf break "wrap-arounds", and an Iwa bird, which Mike says represents Peter watching over all of us. After flying for both Aloha Airlines and most recently with Hawaiian, Mike decided to focus entirely on running our brand full time, and if he's not working at our 2 shops in Kailua, Mike's probably surfing out at the Moke's or at home raising his young daughters with wife Baily.
